Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking a Railway Electrical Estimator to join our growing rail team on a permanent basis. The role is predominantly remote with occasional visits to offices and project meetings across the UK.

Ideal candidates are based in the South West England, South Wales or along the M4/M5 corridors. You will prepare cost estimates for railway electrical projects, review drawings, obtain quotations, and support bid submissions, collaborating with bid, commercial and delivery teams to secure

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out Electrical Estimating within the UK rail sector.
• Strong commercial awareness and estimating principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficient with MS Office.
• Ability to analyse technical documentation and produce accurate costings.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Knowledge of railway electrical systems and power distribution is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing submissions for railway electrical projects.
• Collate and produce pricing documentation for bids and tenders.
• Review drawings and specifications to develop accurate costings.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations.
• Develop estimating spreadsheets, pricing models and tender databases.
• Support commercial reviews and bid submissions.
• Liaise with operations and engineering teams to ensure robust tender submissions.
