Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our team, focusing on rail, aviation, nuclear and defence projects. This role offers remote working with travel to the office as required and a 40-hour week.

You will lead the estimating process, ensure accuracy of tender pricing, develop supply chain strategies with the procurement team and mentor junior staff. A degree or higher in construction or civil engineering is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC in construction or civil engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience as Estimator with a major civil engineering contractor or Senior Estimator with Tier 2 contractors.
• Knowledge of railway sector work types, possession working and site constraints.
• Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of main contract forms.
• Proficient in Excel; familiarity with RIB Candy or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Leading the estimating process from receipt of client documents through to handover to delivery teams
• Ensuring accuracy and completeness of estimates, presenting findings at bid team meetings and final reviews
• Preparing structured items and quantities using methods of measurement, pricing work under various contract forms
• Working with the procurement team to develop supply chain strategies, appraising quotations and selecting appropriate partners
• Identifying key risks, supervising junior team members, and supporting their professional development
