Job summary

Elate Staffing Solutions Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for rail infrastructure projects across the UK. You will own complex tenders, produce first-principles cost estimates and drive competitive pricing while managing commercial risk.

Working with Pre-Contracts, Commercial and Bidding teams, you will develop estimating strategies, validate cost data and ensure robust tender submissions that support business growth and profitability.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years estimating experience, including rail/major infra.
• First-principles estimating for complex projects.
• Knowledge of rail infrastructure disciplines (track, civils, stations).
• Familiarity with NEC/Network Rail contracts and GRIP/PACE.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions for rail projects.
• Produce first-principles estimates using drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with commercial, engineering and delivery teams to develop bids.
• Identify commercial risks and cost-saving opportunities.
• Present estimates and cost breakdowns to senior management.
• Mentor junior estimators and maintain estimating databases.
