Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Procurement Specialist for a 12-month FTC in the public sector based in Bedford, with hybrid working (remote and 1 day in the office per month). The role supports a compliant, value-driven procurement function and reports to the Head of Procurement.

The ideal candidate will have public sector procurement experience, knowledge of procurement legislation (Procurement Act 2023) and be adept at using data and MI to inform decisions. 37.5 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Experience in a regulated public sector procurement environment.
• Knowledge of procurement legislation, governance and compliance, including the Procurement Act 2023.
• Ability to use data, reporting and MI to support decision‑making.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the full procurement lifecycle from sourcing to contract award.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with regulations and procedures.
• Advise colleagues on procurement and commercial matters.
• Review spend data, supplier information, and contract performance metrics.
• Produce management reports and dashboards for senior leaders and governance bodies.
• Drive value for money through commercial analysis of procurement outcomes.
• Promote social value, sustainability and responsible procurement principles.
• Identify and manage procurement and commercial risks.
• Oversee supplier relationships and contract performance, addressing issues proactively.
• Maintain accurate contract records and documentation.
