Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Procurement Operations Manager to lead the operational procurement activity in the Stevenage area. The role is hybrid, Monday–Friday, 45 hours per week, with a day rate of £600 per day (umbrella).

The successful candidate will drive cost avoidance, improve purchasing behaviours and ensure governance over spend and master data. Role involves delivering data-informed insights, supporting bid activity and embedding new suppliers into business processes.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in procurement operations and buying desks.
• Ability to manage supplier performance and compliance with policies.
• Experience driving cost avoidance and catalogue utilisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Buying Desk team and monitor lead time SLAs and KPIs.
• Serve as escalation point for procurement queries.
• Resolve non-standard procurement queries across operational activities.
• Develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Enforce compliance with supplier pathways and purchasing activity.
• Deliver against cost avoidance targets and improve purchasing behaviour.
