Job summary

NWSSP is seeking an experienced Programme Manager (NHS AfC: Band 8a) to lead a major national transformation across workforce technology and services for NHS Wales and England. The role focuses on governance, stakeholder and supplier management, and benefits realisation, with flexible/home working options.

The post involves leading cross-functional teams, delivering change at scale and ensuring successful adoption of new workforce systems within an 18-month fixed-term/secondment arrangement.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in a relevant subject.
• Project/Programme management office qualification (PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proven problem-solving in project delivery.
• Advanced IT skills across desktop applications (Excel, Power BI).

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale transformation programmes across NHS workforce platforms.
• Coordinate multiple workstreams, stakeholders and suppliers to achieve goals.
• Monitor governance, risk management and benefits realisation.
• Provide leadership across the programme lifecycle and ensure delivery aligns with timelines and budgets.
