Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Power T&D team in the UK. You will work with the Project Manager and delivery teams to plan, coordinate and execute projects from inception through completion, developing practical engineering solutions and ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasises collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams, subcontractor management, risk oversight and continuous improvement, with opportunities to influence project success and client

Qualifications

• Experience in a project engineer or site engineer role.
• Experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, energy, power, transmission or major civil projects.
• Strong understanding of project delivery processes.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements in construction.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work across multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of projects to programme, budget and quality.
• Coordinate engineering, design and construction across site teams and partners.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Manage subcontractors and monitor on-site progress.
• Prepare project documentation and reports.
• Support risk management and performance reviews.
• Ensure materials, resources and plant are available.
• Promote a health, safety and environmental culture.
• Review safe systems of work (RAMS).
• Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
