Job summary

Balfour Beatty’s Power Transmission & Distribution team in Aberdeen is seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager to support design and project delivery. You will assist the Engineering Manager and delivery teams from design through to completion, ensuring scope clarity, design adherence and on-time, within-budget execution.

The role demands a proactive engineer with experience in design and project administration and offers exposure to high-profile infrastructure projects within a global company.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering design and project administration.
• Excellent administration and project controls.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate contract requirements with Project Manager, customer and external suppliers.
• Meet with Design Delivery teams to identify requirements, timelines and costs.
• Control, update and report workload progress with delivery estimates and risks.
• Raise and document variations to contract scope with approvals.
• Develop detailed design project plans for clients and teams.
• Monitor project performance to ensure on-time delivery.
• Submit project status reports to clients and stakeholders.
• Specify and quantify equipment/materials to maximise benefits.
• Collaborate with stakeholders for efficient project implementation.
• Coordinate engineering activity to deliver projects for clients like National Grid or SSE.
