Job summary

Balfour Beatty, based in Derby, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and manage Project Engineering Teams delivering design and engineering works for a major construction project. The role emphasizes leadership, quality, and safety to meet programme goals.

Site based 3 days per week with flexible working options; experience in design, project or construction management is valued. Transferable background from related industries welcome.

Qualifications

• Lead engineers to deliver design and installation of complex infrastructure.
• Experience leading engineering teams in design/build construction or installation projects.
• Background in Design, Project, Programme or Construction Management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team of engineers, in the design and installation of complex critical national infrastructure.
• Work collaboratively with the engineering team to ensure that your portfolio of projects are delivered on time, budget and specification to the highest quality and safety standards.
• Coordinating with all the functions within Balfour Beatty, with an emphasis on providing the right engineering solutions both from a technical and value engineering perspective.
• Identify and manage project risks, implementing the necessary mitigations at the Engineering Design phase to ensure the most successful strategy.
