Job summary

Bioptimus is building a universal AI foundation model for biology and seeks a Platform Engineer to own the self‑service data surface and storage tooling. You’ll design scalable storage architectures, ensure safe access, and ship reusable platform services for researchers and engineers.

Remote‑friendly role, with Paris HQ but open to candidates outside Paris. You’ll collaborate with Cloud/DevEx, research, and cross‑functional teams to enable data workflows at scale, with a product‑minded emphasis

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of production platform experience with ownership.
• Proficiency with Terraform and hands‑on Kubernetes/Helm and containers.
• Solid knowledge of object stores, relational databases, and modern storage formats.
• Familiarity with data orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow, Prefect).
• Solid Python development skills and sound engineering practices.
• Security‑aware engineering and least‑privilege in code.
• Platform‑as‑a‑product mindset, self‑serve capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the data & storage self‑service layer and build scalable architecture.
• Create internal services and paved roads for self‑serve data access and processing.
• Work with object stores (S3), Parquet/Delta/Iceberg formats, and data workflows.
• Extend Terraform/IaC and pipelines for reproducibility.
• Incorporate access control and data classification in code.
• Decide what becomes platform‑level vs. experimental.
