Job summary

Mistral is seeking a Platform Engineer to join the Research Platform team to build a cloud-agnostic platform that enhances stability, scalability and velocity for the research group. You'll work closely with our R&D team and researchers to enable high-performance clusters and robust tooling.

The role is based in a hybrid model across Paris, Warsaw or London, or remote within EU/UK with a monthly hub visit. You will design scalable development environments, optimize data pipelines and contribute

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DX/DevOps/SRE or equivalent success.
• Proficient in Python and Go; strong programming practices.
• Experience with site reliability engineering and in-production troubleshooting.
• Familiar with CI/CD, containers, orchestration, and infra-as-code.
• Customer-focused mindset and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale our research CI with reliability and speed.
• Create development environments for researchers to focus on core tasks.
• Build data pipelines and manage large datasets.
• Optimize container images, libraries, and Python environments.
• Collaborate with researchers to understand workflows and enable them.
• Document tools and systems to maximize usability.
• Help platformize research and keep daily researcher experience smooth.
