Job summary

BBC Maestro is seeking an Accountant to underpin day-to-day financial operations in a remote-first, flexible environment. You will report to the CFO and own bookkeeping, payroll, production accounting and artist royalties to ensure accuracy, compliance and timely reporting.

This is a 6‑month fixed term contract, part-time (about 20 hours per week). Location is remote-first with optional Bristol-based days and occasional visits to our London HQ, supporting growing commercial activities as we

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with strong bookkeeping, management accounts, payroll and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Xero; payroll processing experience is highly desirable.
• Experience in production accounting, media, or artist royalties is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Core bookkeeping and financial operations using Xero, processing invoices and managing payments.
• Prepare monthly management accounts for CFO review and sign-off; oversee payroll and pensions.
• Handle production accounting for video courses and cost reporting.
• Track artist royalties and assist CFO with ad-hoc financial analysis.
