Job summary

TPF Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Accounts Manager to join the London-based music and entertainment accounts team. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance and strategic advisory across artists and labels.

You will manage end-to-end accounting processes, support audits, and provide financial insights to drive business decisions, with ACA/ACCA progression or qualification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• ACCA/ACA in progress or qualified.
• Experience in accounting, preferably in music/entertainment.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end accounting processes including A/P and A/R, month-end and year-end closing, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, HMRC regulations, and industry standards.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and dashboards for stakeholders and auditors.
• Provide advisory support on budgeting, financial planning and cost control.
• Collaborate with legal and tax teams on royalties, licensing fees and IP income.
• Monitor contract terms and royalty distributions across artist portfolios.
• Lead reconciliation of revenue streams including streaming, events and merchandise.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Support audits and document explanations as required.

This role is central to ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance and strategic financial advisory across a diverse portfolio of artists, labels and creative projects.

As a key contributor to the finance function, you will play a vital role in managing complex accounting operations, supporting audit readiness and delivering insightful financial analysis that drives business decisions. Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end and year-end closing and financial reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; ACA, ACCA qualification in progress or fully qualified.
  
• Professional accounting experience, preferably within the music, entertainment, or creative industries.
  
• Proven experience in financial reporting, compliance, and audit support in a regulated environment.
  
• Strong understanding of royalty accounting, revenue recognition and contract compliance in creative sectors.
  
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
  
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  
• Experience working with international clients, multi-currency transactions and cross-border financial reporting is highly advantageous.
  
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR anti-money laundering (AML) and data protection in financial services.
  
• This role offers a competitive salary of £45,000–£55,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.
