Job summary

NEC Software Solutions is seeking an Oracle Database Application and Support Analyst to service 100+ customers across the public sector, spanning on‑premises, private and public cloud environments. The role supports diverse systems with remote or hybrid work options, subject to location and requirements.

You will upgrade and install software, tune performance, back up data, and collaborate with IT teams to deliver proactive, customer‑focussed solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Oracle Database in single‑instance environments.
• Experience installing and maintaining software on Solaris, Linux, or Windows Server.
• Deploying Tomcat‑based web applications and enhancing web services.
• Strong communication with customers via video, phone, and email.
• Diagnose performance using Oracle tools like STATSPACK and OCI Analytics.
• Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Ivanti.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Apply software updates and perform technology upgrades.
• Install new software and troubleshoot issues.
• Review metrics to address performance and backup concerns.
• Communicate professionally with customers to provide solutions.
• Collaborate within the team and share workloads.
• Coordinate with IT teams (Networks, UNIX, Cloud Ops).
• Identify automation opportunities to improve outcomes.
