Job summary

NEC Software Solutions in the United Kingdom is seeking an Oracle Database Application and Support Analyst to maintain and upgrade Oracle environments across on-prem, private, and public cloud systems.

You will handle installations, performance tuning, backups, and collaborate with IT teams to deliver reliable software services for 100+ customers, including public sector clients. Remote or hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Database Management including upgrades for single-instance environments.
• Experience in installing and maintaining software on Solaris, Linux, or Windows Server.
• Deployment of Apache Tomcat-based web applications, enhancing web services capabilities.
• Strong aptitude in direct customer interaction via video, telephone, and email.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose performance issues using native Oracle tools like STATSPACK and latest Oracle tools like OCI Analytics
• Familiarity with ITSM process and ability to leverage modern ITSM tools like ServiceNow, Ivanti or similar.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance
• Expertise in Apache Web Server configuration and management, optimizing web app performance.
• Proficiency in Unix shell scripting, streamlining administrative tasks and automation.
• Familiarity with Ansible set up and managing and implementing Ansible roles as part of automation
• Experience in scripted database and software backups and recovery, ensuring data security.
• Knowledge of Microsoft IIS Web Server configuration and management.
• Understanding of network architecture, bolstering infrastructure expertise.
• Oracle Certification
