Job summary

Civica is seeking an NHS Payroll Controller to join our fully remote UK team. You will own the full payroll lifecycle for NHS clients, ensuring accuracy and timely payments, and collaborating with NHS trusts, HMRC, and NHS Pensions.

You'll develop specialist knowledge of ESR, the NHS payroll system, deliver monthly reports, handle client queries, and work within a supportive team to maintain compliance and service excellence.

Qualifications

• GCSE level Maths and English or equivalent
• Experience in payroll processing in a customer-focused environment
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal abilities
• Methodical and analytical working style
• Exceptional attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Key and check payroll input
• Produce monthly client reports and submit BACS
• Producing scheduled payroll reports and payslips
• Ensure payments are processed accurately and on time
• Handle client queries professionally
• Maintain communication with HMRC, NHS Pensions and Courts
• Process year end returns accurately
• Ensure compliance to all legislative requirements
