Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Analyst to safeguard information assets by monitoring security systems, analyzing threats, and responding to incidents. The role supports a remote-friendly policy from Randburg, Gauteng, with potential occasional on-site visits.

The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of information security experience, familiarity with SIEM and other monitoring tools, and a solid understanding of networking and security frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in information security role.
• Familiarity with security monitoring tools and techniques.
• Understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and common security threats.
• Knowledge of security best practices and common security frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid or remote setup, with potential for occasional on-site presence in Randburg, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems, including SIEM, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems, for suspicious activity.
• Analyze security alerts and events to identify and assess potential threats.
• Respond to security incidents, investigate root causes, and implement containment and remediation measures.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments.
