Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Network Security Analyst to safeguard telecommunications network infrastructure. You will lead threat detection, incident response, and security architecture efforts across Randburg-based operations, working with advanced security tools and technologies.

The role requires 5+ years of network security experience, strong analytical skills, and hands-on expertise with firewalls, IDPS, SIEM, and cloud security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Cybersecurity or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in network security with focus on analysis and incident response.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security architectures and common attack vectors.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, SIEM and endpoint security solutions.
• Proficiency in analyzing network traffic with tools like Wireshark.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and security logs for threats.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of security incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Develop, implement, and maintain network security policies and standards.
• Configure and manage security tools (firewalls, IDPS, VPNs, SIEM).
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
• Design and architect secure network solutions following best practices.
• Lead incident response during breaches and cyberattacks.
• Stay updated on emerging threats and technologies.
• Provide security awareness training to IT staff.
• Collaborate with IT and operations to integrate security into design and deployment.
