Job summary

Siemens Energy Limited is seeking a Team Leader in HVDC Control and Protection Engineering in Manchester. You will guide a team of up to 15 engineers, define control concepts for HVDC systems, and coordinate project activities across global projects.

The role emphasizes mentoring, training, and continuous improvement within a dynamic grid technology environment. Strong technical and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical power or control engineering, with MSc/PhD preferred.
• Strong leadership and team management experience in HVDC/control engineering.
• Proven ability to define concepts and coordinate cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of HVDC control and protection engineers, managing resources and training.
• Define control concepts for HVDC systems and ensure technical compliance.
• Oversee project tasks including concept clarification, documentation, and simulation support.
• Drive continuous improvement through mentoring and standardization of processes.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and manage NCR-related risks.
• Contribute as a technical specialist in control engineering design and training.
