Job summary

Ball Corporation in Austria is seeking a Front End Specialist to support regional process teams with installations, audits, problem solving, and best practice rollout for Front End equipment including Body Makers and Trimmers.

You will act as the subject matter expert, provide training, and coordinate with plant teams and suppliers, with remote work and 80% travel anticipated. A mechanical engineering background and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• ONC or Mechanical Engineering degree.
• 3–5 years hands-on engineering experience on Body Makers.
• Ability to manage a small project or team.
• In-depth knowledge of how the Front End of a 2-piece can plant operates.
• Self-managing and self-motivated.
• Willingness to travel on short notice and work weekends when required.
• Full driving licence.
• Team player with good communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Support projects and overhauls with required technical expertise.
• Generate and send detailed reports from site visits to Managers.
• Maintain all aspects of Bodymaker and Trimmer equipment (maintenance, audits, problem solving).
• Provide training at all levels to plant and central employees.
• Assist plants in raising capital investment requests as needed.
• Liaise with equipment suppliers/OEMs.
• Provide workable SOPs to ensure good equipment practices.
• Promote valuable skills across all plants.
• Follow up on recommended actions.
• Maintain good relations with plants and suppliers.
• Develop and deliver technical training for new/existing plants.
• Be available on short notice for emergency breakdowns.
