Job summary
Samuel Frank is seeking an experienced Automation Controls Engineer in Lincolnshire to design and develop PLC control systems for bespoke packaging machinery.
The role involves programming, testing, and commissioning PLC, HMI and SCADA software, plus remote support and on-site installation with limited travel.
You will work with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure UKCA/CE compliance and maintain thorough design documentation.
Qualifications
- Experience designing PLC control systems for bespoke automated machinery.
- Programming, testing and commissioning PLC, HMI and SCADA software.
- Ensuring machinery complies with UKCA/CE machinery safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Designing and developing PLC control systems for bespoke automated machinery
- Programming, testing and commissioning PLC, HMI and SCADA software
- Supporting installation and commissioning activities both in-house and at customer sites (mainly remotely)
- Modifying and upgrading existing machine control systems to improve performance and reliability
- Providing PLC fault finding and remote technical support on existing installations
- Working closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to deliver complete automation solutions
- Producing functional design specifications and maintaining software documentation and version control
- Supporting Field Service Engineers with technical issues and troubleshooting
- Office and shop floor based role
- Any experience of Functional Safety, Electrical design or vision systems would be advantageous
