Job summary

D7 Recruitment is seeking a UK-based Principal Designer (CDM) for a permanent health and safety consultancy role. The position is largely remote with nationwide travel, and site visits typically around once a month.

You will coordinate health and safety during design and pre-construction, advising clients and design teams to manage risks early and keep projects moving. You'll work with multiple projects across the UK, balance a flexible diary, and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Experience acting as a Principal Designer on construction projects.
• Strong health and safety consultancy background.
• Confidence working with clients, design teams and senior stakeholders.
• Ability to manage several projects and priorities independently.
• Willingness to travel nationally when projects require it.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate health and safety during the design and pre-construction stages.
• Identify risks early and address them through the design.
• Work with clients, designers and contractors to provide practical advice and keep projects moving.
• Manage your own diary with travel planned around project needs.
