Job summary

B Lab in London is hiring a Data Governance Lead within the Data & ML Platforms pillar. You will own data standards, definitions, and sensitivity classifications while ensuring the platform and analytics comply with laws and internal policy.

You’ll help build data literacy and partner with engineers to align models and pipelines to standards. This remote-first role operates from the London hub; residency in the UK is required at start, with commuting distance to the office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data modeling or data governance roles.
• Experience establishing data standards, definitions and sensitivity classifications.
• Ability to audit and advise on governance implementations using SQL and data models.
• Experience communicating technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with data-related legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own Data Standards & Definitions: establish and maintain standards, definitions, and sensitivity classifications.
• Ensure Compliance: keep data platform and analytics practices compliant with laws and policy.
• Drive Standards Adoption: ensure data standards are used across pillars.
• Build Data Literacy: create training and documentation for widespread adoption.
• Partner with Platform Peers to ensure models/pipelines are built to standard.
• Support Pillar 2 & 3 to apply standards consistently.
• Evaluate Governance Tooling and track literacy impact.
