Job summary

ABB UK is seeking a field service engineer to deliver remote and on-site support for low to medium complexity projects, emphasising first-time-right execution and customer satisfaction.

The role combines remote standby support with field visits in the UK and international locations, requires electrical/mechanical engineering skills, and involves preparing work packs, risk assessments, and material lists. A UK driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical engineering degree or proven track record.
• Field service experience; willingness to travel UK and internationally; ABB knowledge desirable.
• Able to work in demanding environments, on/offshore when required.
• Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support to customers during standby time.
• Identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points (on-site).
• Perform field service tasks, diagnose issues, and analyze remotely or on-site.
• Prepare material lists and ensure availability and quality of parts and equipment.
• Prepare work packs including risk assessments and method statements.
• Troubleshoot equipment/process failures and recommend preventive actions.
