Job summary

Intuitive Surgical seeks a Field Service Engineer to manage customer technical relations after the point of sale for all Intuitive Surgical products in an assigned territory. You will work independently, manage escalations, and align expectations with customers and colleagues.

The role requires extensive travel (up to 80%), strong communication, and deep product knowledge to maximize system uptime and support clinical outcomes.

Qualifications

• College degree in applied science or engineering preferred; or equivalent training/experience.
• 5–10 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer, including medical devices.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

• Senior da Vinci Surgical technical expert across all system platforms.
• Analyze customer requirements for system installation with pre-site planning and installation coordination.
• Autonomously manage and schedule appointments to maximize uptime and system reliability.
• Use judgment when assessing functionality and repairing Intuitive Surgical products.
• Provide on-site training and technical support to junior engineers and ensure proper escalation.
• Engage in service contract renewal discussions and present value of service offerings.
