Job summary

VodafoneThree is seeking a skilled Field Engineer to deliver service across Scotland’s telecoms network. You will support field engineering activities, participate in 24/7/365 maintenance, and work with project teams to ensure reliable performance and quality outcomes.

The role requires experience in telecommunications, IP networking, and collaboration across teams. A strong focus on safety, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in telecommunications, field engineering, maintenance, commissioning, or related technical environments.
• Knowledge of IP networking technologies (WAN/LAN/routing/switching/MPLS) or willingness to develop.
• Experience supporting or maintaining telecommunications infrastructure (SDH/PDH/Radio) and related tech.
• Familiarity with networking equipment such as Cisco/Alcatel or similar platforms.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and prioritisation skills for dynamic settings.
• Effective communication and relationship-building with customers and stakeholders.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and Teams for reporting and collaboration.
• Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement with vendor approvals if needed.

Responsibilities

• Support successful project delivery with engineers and delivery teams, upholding quality, safety and customer experience.
• Ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and standards and comply with health and safety requirements.
• Document project activities accurately and assist Project Engineers.
• Track progress against plans and contribute ideas to keep delivery on track.
• Identify risks or dependencies and escalate where appropriate for resolution.
• Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues to align on delivery.
• Assist in technical testing and quality activities per project requirements.
• Maintain project records and perform administrative tasks to support delivery.
• Collaborate across teams to drive positive customer outcomes and continuous improvement.
