Job summary

Vodafone Newcastle (Field Based) is seeking a Field Engineer to install, maintain and upgrade the Vodafone network across fixed and mobile services. You will join our Field Engineering team ensuring safe, high-quality delivery and customer-focused service.

This role requires UK residency and SC clearance eligibility, a flexible approach to hours, and willingness to travel. The position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with standby and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Formal telecoms/electronic qualification or equivalent experience.
• Provision of service, fault diagnosis and rectification of telecoms technologies.
• Multi-vendor CPE including Cisco, Juniper and ADVA.
• Core transmission technologies including DWDM and Ethernet.
• Mobile networking technologies 3G/4G/5G and related equipment.
• Microwave Radio,
• Switch and Field DC power systems,
• Fibre and copper cabling and termination.

Responsibilities

• Play an integral part of Vodafone Field Engineering, installing and maintaining networks and Vodafone business solutions.
• Regularly climb Vodafone fixed/mobile infrastructure and perform rooftop work safely.
• Adhere to quality and H&S standards and meet performance targets.
• Flexible hours and travel as required to meet business needs.
• Participate in 24/7 callout rota or shift patterns as needed.
• Physical role involving lifting, stairs, standing, and outdoor work.
• Install, commission and maintain network products to Vodafone standards.
• Follow Vodafone HSE Absolute Rules without exception.
• Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
