Job summary

Hitachi Energy UK Limited is seeking an External Communications Strategist for Grid Automation to elevate visibility by translating complex energy topics into compelling stories for global audiences and external channels.

You will partner with leaders to shape narrative strategy, develop messages, and drive thought‑leadership, while coordinating across marketing, communications, and corporate teams to maximize presence on paid, earned, owned, and social channels.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in corporate and executive communications.
• Strong writing, editing and content development across formats.
• Experience in energy sector or B2B technology preferred.
• Ability to translate complex topics into compelling external narratives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted communications partner to the business unit, shaping narrative strategy, message development, and thought‑leadership positioning.
• Build an external communications plan leveraging cross‑functional teams to achieve objectives and show impact through data.
• Collaborate with Grid Automation Marketing & Communications and Hitachi Energy Corporate communications to design content strategies for paid, earned, owned and social channels.
• Lead executive communication priorities, including speechwriting and keynote development.
• Provide editorial leadership across web, newsletters, video scripts, and social media content.
