Job summary

Franchise Brands plc is seeking a Product Development Manager to lead the technical delivery and ongoing development of its enterprise-scale, work management platform used by diverse clients. This is a people-management role with a strong emphasis on engineering-quality and dependable delivery.

You will steer solution design, shape the platform roadmap, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Project Management, Support and business stakeholders to translate requirements into secure,

Qualifications

• Substantial experience delivering enterprise B2B software in a technical leadership or software development management role.
• A good degree in Computing or a similar technical subject.
• Strong practical understanding of software architecture, application design, integrations, databases, APIs, source control, testing and deployment practices.
• Ability to review technical proposals, identify risks and guide teams toward pragmatic solutions.
• Experience managing and developing software professionals, including coaching and performance management.
• Experience managing delivery backlogs and coordinating work across development, analysis, testing, product and project disciplines.
• Experience establishing or improving engineering-quality practices, including code review and automated testing.
• Experience delivering software for multiple clients or a shared platform with client-specific requirements.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining complex technical matters to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architecture oversight across the delivery lifecycle.
• Manage delivery, backlogs and governance to ensure timely, tested releases.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.
• Guide platform direction, prioritisation and stakeholder collaboration with a strong product-technical balance.
