GitLab is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for Gitaly and related infrastructure from the United Kingdom in a remote capacity. You will nurture a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement while guiding long-term projects focused on performance, scalability, and core architecture.

You will mentor senior engineers, drive cross-team collaboration, and balance engineering roadmaps with product and infrastructure priorities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing engineering teams with direct reports and career development.
• Ability to guide engineers through ambiguity and complex technical decisions.
• Strong written communication and asynchronous collaboration skills.
• Experience leading long-term technical projects on distributed systems and storage.
• Hands-on engagement with system-level code and architecture.
