Job summary

GitLab is hiring an Engineering Manager for the Switchboard team that powers the Dedicated tenant management product. You will oversee a diverse group of frontend, backend, and reliability engineers, shaping architecture and strategy while delivering end-to-end product improvements at scale.

You will hire, mentor, and coordinate with product managers, design, and tech leads to ensure timely delivery, high quality, and operational excellence across global, remote teams.

Qualifications

• Proven track record building and owning large-scale distributed services.
• Experience leading remote/distributed teams.
• Strong architectural and strategic engineering skills.
• Comfort using AI tools to boost productivity and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the fullstack Switchboard team responsible for GitLab Dedicated’s customer-facing control panel.
• Hire and develop a high-performing team.
• Collaborate with Product and Design on UI direction for external users.
• Own planning with Product Manager and ensure cross-functional execution.
