Job summary

Altus Group is seeking a Technical Engineering Manager to lead and grow inclusive engineering teams, shape technical direction, and stay close to real engineering work across AWS-native platforms and legacy systems. This role sits at the intersection of technology, delivery and people leadership.

You’ll lead a team of engineers, help them excel, and foster psychological safety, continuous improvement, and thoughtful adoption of AI.

Qualifications

• Strong background in software engineering with several years in leadership and people management.
• Experience building and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
• Delivery experience with customer-facing web applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow and support inclusive engineering teams.
• Create a high-trust, psychologically safe environment where people feel supported and accountable.
• Hire and onboard new team members with regular feedback and clear development plans; manage performance with empathy and clarity.
• Maintain understanding of team strengths and future needs.
• Support engineers and partners using Agile and Lean practices.
• Shape technical strategy with Product and Architecture.
• Guide teams building AWS-native and cloud-based platforms alongside legacy systems.
• Uphold engineering standards across code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability and documentation.
• Stay close to technical decisions through design reviews and architecture discussions.
