Job summary

Altus Group seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain complex AWS-native systems, driving architectural decisions and delivering production-grade code with strong testing and ops practices.

As an AI-first engineer, you will build AI agents and agentic workflows using AWS Bedrock and related tools, applying AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery. A solid data engineering and cloud-native background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proven experience designing and supporting complex production systems.
• Strong hands-on development with Python/Java/Node.js.
• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and microservices.
• Extensive experience building cloud-native apps in AWS.
• Solid data engineering, ETL, and large-scale data processing.
• Proven track record delivering AI agents and agentic systems.
• Experience building evaluation/testing frameworks for AI/LLM solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure software applications and services.
• Own the technical design from conception to production.
• Drive architecture decisions balancing scalability and reliability.
• Write, review, and improve production code with best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and code-review feedback, including AI-generated code validation.
• Champion testing, automation, documentation, and operational excellence.
