Job summary

Altus Group in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain AWS-native software systems within their area of ownership. This AI-first engineer will lead architecture, drive production-grade code, and apply data engineering and cloud-native practices to deliver scalable, observable platforms for Altus Group’s software products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience designing and supporting complex production systems.
• Strong hands-on development in Python, Java, Node.js, or similar.
• Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and microservices.
• Extensive experience developing cloud-native applications in AWS.
• Strong data engineering background with ETL and large-scale processing.
• Proven experience building AI agents and agentic systems.
• Experience creating evaluation and testing frameworks for AI/LLM.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure software applications and services.
• Own the technical design from conception through production.
• Drive architectural decisions balancing scalability and reliability.
• Write and review high-quality production code and promote best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and code reviews, including AI-generated code validation.
• Champion engineering excellence through testing, automation, and documentation.
• Build production-grade AI agents and agentic workflows using AWS Bedrock, Anthropic/Claude, LangGraph, or CrewAI.
• Develop data pipelines and ETL workflows using Glue, Spark/PySpark, Kafka.
