Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Thurnscoe is seeking a Logistics Hire Coordinator to join our Asset & Technology Solutions team. You will manage hire requests, coordinate deliveries and maintain hire records, supporting efficient equipment management on major UK infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
• Confident communicator who can build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Experience in logistics, transport, hire desk, fleet coordination or a similar environment.
• Sales experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Survey and Communications services would be beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Managing hire, off-hire, breakdown, extension and exchange requests.
• Coordinating equipment deliveries and collections with suppliers, depots and customers.
• Raising and processing purchase orders accurately and on time.
• Maintaining hire records and supporting documentation.
• Supporting stock checks and equipment tracking activities.
• Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and operational teams.
• Maximising utilisation of the internal fleet through effective communication.
• Processing damage claims and failed collections in line with company procedures.
