Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for a Remote/South Wales area role. You will design, implement and continuously improve security controls across Microsoft technologies and cloud platforms, with hands-on delivery in Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID and Azure environments.

You will collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to embed security into new and existing solutions, while guiding stakeholders on risk and security maturity within a growing cyber function.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Security Engineering or Security Infrastructure role.
• Hands-on Microsoft Defender and Sentinel experience.
• Experience securing Azure production environments.
• Understanding of Entra ID security and identity governance.
• Experience with vulnerability management programs.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and articulate risk.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and optimise Defender and Sentinel capabilities across the estate.
• Design and implement security controls within Azure environments.
• Lead improvements across Entra ID security and Privileged Identity Management.
• Drive vulnerability management activities, remediation planning and risk reduction initiatives.
• Implement and maintain data protection and information governance with Microsoft Purview.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud and project teams to embed security into solutions.
• Contribute to incident response activities and detection improvements.
• Provide technical security guidance to stakeholders.
• Support compliance against security frameworks including NCSC CAF, ISO27001, NIST CSF and CIS Controls.
