Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join remotely in the South Wales area, focusing on designing and implementing security controls across Microsoft technologies and cloud platforms.

The role emphasizes building, improving and securing modern enterprise environments, with involvement in vulnerability management, identity governance and compliance activities across NCSC CAF, ISO27001, NIST CSF and CIS Controls.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and improving security controls.
• Experience in Security Engineering or related infrastructure roles.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Defender and Sentinel.
• Experience securing Azure environments in production.
• Understanding of Entra ID, CA and identity governance.
• Practical vulnerability management and remediation experience.
• Experience with security frameworks and control implementation.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and articulate risk.

Responsibilities

• Enhance Defender and Sentinel capabilities across the estate.
• Design and implement security controls within Azure environments.
• Lead improvements in Entra ID, Conditional Access and Privileged Identity Management.
• Drive vulnerability management activities and risk reduction.
• Implement data protection and information governance with Microsoft Purview.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud and project teams to embed security.
• Contribute to incident response and detection improvements.
• Provide technical security guidance to stakeholders.
• Support compliance with NCSC CAF, ISO27001, NIST CSF and CIS Controls.
