Job summary

British Red Cross is seeking a debt collection professional to manage arrears, ensure accurate allocation to customer accounts and liaise with the Income Team and other finance departments. The role emphasizes compliance with statutory regulations while delivering efficient service.

The successful candidate will apply strong credit control skills, accuracy in reporting, and proactive process improvement to optimize collection performance within a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in debt collection and credit control processes.
• Ability to produce accurate debtor reports and check accounts.

Responsibilities

• Chase arrears by telephone and email; reconcile customer accounts.
• Perform credit checks and investigations as required.
• Prepare and analyse journal entries where adjustments are necessary.
• Liaise with Income Team staff and managers.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and adopt best practices.
• Provide timely, clear responses to queries from the Shared Service’s Support Desk.
