Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Building Control Officer to support the delivery of a professional building control service. The role involves site inspections, vetting and approving plans, and supervising building work in line with Building Regulations and related legislation.

The position is predominantly remote with occasional office attendance about once per month, on a rolling three-month contract for 37 hours per week, suitable for a registered Building Inspector with Class 2A or Class 2A/2C

Qualifications

• Registration as Building Inspector with Class 2A or Class 2A/2C accreditation is required.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and allied legislation is essential.
• Experience in building control, plan assessment and site inspection is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out site inspections at various stages of building work.
• Vet and approve plans in line with Building Regulations and related legislation.
• Supervise building work to ensure compliance with approved plans and statutory requirements.
• Provide professional building control advice to customers, contractors and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports and regulatory documentation.
• Support delivery of an efficient, consistent and high-quality Building Control service.
• Represent the service professionally and contribute to excellent customer outcomes.
