Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Registered Building Inspector to support building control services on a contract basis. The role combines plan checking, plan assessment and site inspections with a flexible mix of home-based duties and on-site visits as required.

The successful candidate will review plans for compliance, provide technical feedback and manage inspection appointments. Strong regulatory knowledge and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Registered Building Inspector.
• Class 2D or Class 2F competence required.
• Strong experience in building control, plan checking and plan assessment.
• Knowledge of current building regulations and compliance requirements.
• Practical experience carrying out building site inspections.
• Ability to work independently with accurate documentation.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Flexibility to attend site inspections, including key inspection times.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and assessing building control plans for compliance with regulations.
• Carrying out detailed plan checking and providing clear feedback.
• Undertaking site inspections at key construction stages.
• Managing inspection appointments, including early morning and afternoon visits.
• Preparing records and reports relating to inspections and assessments.
• Communicating with applicants, contractors and stakeholders.
• Working flexibly between home-based duties and on-site inspections.
