Job summary

The Council’s Building Control team is seeking a Registered Building Inspector Class 2 to ensure developments comply with building regulations and to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service. The role offers opportunities to develop building control experience within a supportive team and to contribute to service improvement.

Ideal candidates will hold RICS or CABE membership, understand the building control process, and be capable of assessing building plans while aiming for Band B

Qualifications

• Membership of RICS or CABE is required.
• Understanding of the building control process and regulations.
• Ability to carry out building plan assessments.
• Willingness to attain Band B General Registration with the Building Safety Regulator.

Responsibilities

• Assess building plans to ensure compliance with building regulations.
• Support the building control process in a team.
• Review proposed developments and building work for regulatory compliance.
• Maintain high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Provide professional and responsive service to customers and stakeholders.
