Job summary

Racecar Engineering & Build is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design and develop a new line of high-performance brake calipers and discs for aftermarket and motorsport applications. You will work with the engineering team to create bespoke calipers and engage with suppliers to optimise manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in mechanical or automotive engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years design experience of vehicle brake calipers.
• Strong knowledge of brake system components and QA methods.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Engineer a new line of high performance brake calipers & discs for aftermarket & motorsport applications.
• Collaborate with engineering team to develop bespoke brake calipers.
• Coordinate with suppliers for manufacturing processes.
• Develop component targets based on customer requirements and track data.
• Create product costings at concept phase and monitor/manage costings through the project.
• Create and manage test plans.
