Job summary

Motorsport Network, LLC is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design high performance brake calipers and discs for aftermarket and motorsport projects. You will collaborate with the team to develop bespoke calipers, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure targets meet customer and track data requirements.

You will create cost estimates at concept and manage costing through the project while defining and executing test plans, with remote working options and potential travel as needed.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in mechanical or automotive engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years' design experience of vehicle brake calipers.
• Strong knowledge of complete brake system (disc, friction material, master cylinder).
• Excellent communication; able to liaise with suppliers and customers.
• Proficient with Catia, NX, Creo or SolidWorks.
• Experience with DFM, DFA and tolerancing.
• Experience cascading vehicle-level targets to component specs.
• Knowledge of CAE tools and test methods for suspension systems.
• Working knowledge of D-FMEA, P-FMEA, DVPs and APQP.

Responsibilities

• Engineer a new line of high performance brake calipers & discs for aftermarket & motorsport applications.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop bespoke brake calipers.
• Work with suppliers to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Develop component targets based on customer requirements and track data.
• Create product costings at concept phase and manage costings through the project.
• Create and manage test plans.
