Job summary

Prodrive is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Engineering Vehicle Design group. You will design and deliver high‑performance vehicle systems from concept through to manufacture and track deployment, across chassis, suspension, steering and braking components.

You will collaborate with analysts and suppliers, ensuring designs are robust, manufacturable and aligned with programme requirements, while advancing motorsport engineering excellence in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related field.
• Proven expertise designing chassis, suspension, steering and braking components and assemblies.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams from concept through to manufacture.
• Excellent CAD skills; Siemens NX and Teamcenter experience is advantageous.
• Ability to deliver high‑quality engineering solutions in a fast‑paced, championship environment.
• Passion for motorsport, innovation and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design structural components across chassis, suspension, steering and braking systems.
• Collaborate with Structural Analysts to develop and optimise mechanical systems.
• Produce concept designs and detailed engineering solutions meeting performance, weight and cost targets.
• Deliver CAD assemblies and detailed designs to timelines and budgets.
• Release parts and assembly structures onto Bills of Materials.
• Maintain accurate Bills of Materials throughout the project lifecycle.
• Understand commercial impact of design decisions on manufacture and BOM costs.
• Support design reviews and continuous improvement across programmes.
• Liaise with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure manufacturability and delivery.
