Job summary

Albireo Energy is seeking a highly capable BMS Design Engineer to deliver design outputs for projects from £30k to multi-million-pound schemes. The role is predominantly remote with occasional site visits, involving review of panel drawings, point lists, and control documentation, and coordinating with OEMs and consultants to ensure compliant, handover-ready designs.

Qualifications

• Proven BMS design experience with controls engineering or building services.
• Strong understanding of HVAC plant, building services, and control strategies.
• Experience with BACnet and Modbus networks and related protocols.

Responsibilities

• Produce and develop BMS design documentation for projects.
• Review panel drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and related technical documentation.
• Create points lists, schedules, and control documentation for procurement, panel manufacture, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with OEMs, consultants, project managers and commissioning engineers.
• Interpret specifications and mechanical/electrical schedules to develop practical design solutions.
• Support design coordination across multiple market sectors (commercial, healthcare, education, public sector, residential, retail).
• Prepare clear handover information for onsite commissioning engineers.
