Job summary

Grafana Labs, a fully remote, global company, is seeking a Backend Engineer for the Platform - Stacks to help scale critical systems powering Grafana Cloud. You will work across AppCore and Stack reconciliation, collaborating with Product, Hosted Grafana, and Infrastructure teams to ensure reliable stack lifecycles and seamless customer experiences.

You will apply strong Golang expertise and cloud familiarity (AWS/GCP/Azure), contributing to distributed systems, incident response, and IaC

Qualifications

• Remote work experience in fully remote roles.
• Experience with SaaS platforms and distributed systems concepts.
• Proficiency in Go; comfortable with backend and application code.
• Focus on developer and user experience.
• Experience shipping projects from brainstorming to customer delivery.
• Write clean, well-tested code; iterative task breakdown.
• Collaborate across teams; align with stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes in cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) and IaC tools.
• Experience in blameless incident response and post-incident reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate reconciliation systems, including the SSS backend.
• Collaborate across SSS, grafana.com, and deployment configurations for reliable stack lifecycles.
• Improve deployment simplicity and contribute to the Stack Config Reconciliation project.
• Manage rollout mechanisms for plugins, dashboards, data sources, Grafana versions.
• Support new region and cluster rollouts, bringing stacks online safely in new regions.
• Improve incident response and recovery paths for stack misalignment and plugin issues.
• Partner with Product, Hosted Grafana, Infrastructure, Support, and AppCore squads.
• Contribute to roadmap planning and OnCall improvements.
