Job summary

Grafana Labs in the United Kingdom offers a remote-first engineer role focused on building and operating the new Foundation’s “Metal” squad. You will manage bare-metal to Kubernetes, networking, scheduling, and resource provisioning for Grafana Cloud environments with a strong emphasis on collaboration and distributed ownership.

The role requires experience with Go, Python, Shell, and Kubernetes, plus hands-on work with Crossplane, Terraform, and related tooling.

Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems and Go, Python, and Shell in a production setting.
• Comfort working in a remote-first, distributed team with strong collaboration and ownership.
• Experience operating workloads on Kubernetes and building platforms for developers.

Responsibilities

• Manage the physical Metal environment from bare metal to Kubernetes.
• Administer cluster networking components including load balancing, NAT, DNS and cross-cluster routing.
• Handle scheduling and autoscaling for platform workloads.
• Maintain Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules for CSP resources and provider versions.
• Collaborate with Grafana Cloud teams to understand needs and invest in key capabilities.
