Job summary

RMG is partnering with an insurtech specialist to build cloud-native backend services in a fully remote UK role. You will own scalable APIs and data pipelines using Node.js and TypeScript to power underwriting and mobile apps.

You will collaborate across Product, Design and Engineering, drive clean architecture, and ensure reliability and observability in high-availability systems. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Production-grade APIs, microservices, and distributed systems experience.
• Strong software architecture fundamentals and clean code principles.
• Experience delivering software collaboratively within Agile teams (Scrum or Kanban) and communicating complex concepts.
• Ability to write maintainable, reliable code.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Architect production-grade integrations, messaging flows, and data services for underwriting and mobile apps.
• Champion clean architecture, collaborating with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Maintain end-to-end ownership, reliability, observability, and performance of services.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and design sessions to influence long-term technical direction.
