Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a freelance Mechanical CFD Engineer to train and evaluate AI agents on fluid simulation tasks. You will take CAD geometry, set up and run simulations, build verified reference solutions, and write Python checks for the results.

The role offers fully remote work with a 10–20 hour weekly commitment during active phases and compensation up to $36 per hour depending on level and pace. International projects may apply.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field; PhD preferred but not required.
• Several years of hands-on CFD with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+ including meshing.
• Solid verification/validation: mesh-independence studies and validation vs experiments.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level CFD tasks.
• Take CAD geometry, set up and run simulations.
• Build verified reference solutions and benchmarks.
• Write Python checks for agent results.
