Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a freelance Mechanical CFD Engineer to help train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level fluid simulations. You will take CAD geometry, set up and run simulations, build verified reference solutions, and write Python checks for the agent's results.

Ideal candidates have hands-on CFD experience with OpenFOAM or commercial solvers, strong verification/validation skills, and proficiency in Python and GitHub.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field; PhD preferred but not required.
• Several years of hands-on CFD experience with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+, including meshing.
• Solid verification/validation practice: mesh-independence studies and validation against experiment or benchmarks.
• Proficiency in Python and GitHub.
• English at B2 level or above.
• Nice to have: aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery background; multiphase or particle-laden flow experience.
